Das ohnehin schon wirtschaftliche Leuchtmittel Leuchtstoffröhre wird durch den effektiven Einsatz von dimmbaren elektronischen Vorschaltgeräten zum wahren Sparwunder. Die Leuchtstoffröhre lässt sich mit diesem Gerät bis auf 10% ihrer Leistung herab dimmen. Dieses elektronische Vorschaltgerät speist jeweils zwei Röhren mit à 18 Watt (600mm). Zum Dimmen genügt ein handelsüblicher 1-10 Volt Dimmer. Zwischen EVG und Dimmer muss neben Phase, Null und Erde eine zusätzliche Steuerleitung liegen.
